Binghamton's Bomb. As I was on a mission to shop this morning at Boscovs, I arrived a bit early. I decided to try out the new resturant inside the store until they were open for business. The waitress waited on me right away, bringing me coffee. I thought, wow...this is nice. I ordered my breakfast, eggs, home fries, toast and sausage. Everything but my sausage was placed in front of me, and I was told that it would just need a few more minutes to cook. No problem. Right along, that was placed in front of me. I tried the homefries. They were over done and had a funny taste to them. I picked up my toast, and the butter was not even melted. The bread felt and tasted like it was old. Not quite moldy, but on its way out. The eggs were good even though I could tell that the grill was a little too hot due to the brownish color of the burnt butter that transferred to the eggs. The sausage was hard to cut through even with a knife. I took a bite of it...and it tasted almost spoiled. I was not going to complain because it is just not in my nature to do so. The waitress asked me why I didn't want the sausage. I told her that it had a funny taste. I didn't know if it was supposed to taste that way or not, but I did not like it. I did not ask for a refund or ask for another one. I figured that it just didn't matter and I would go home and never go there for anything again. Simple as that. Well the waitress took it into the kitchen and told the owner whom came right out with an entire pan of precooked sausage and told me that she had just cooked my sausage fresh. She took a bite of it and told me..."see, there is nothing wrong with it". She was going on about how it had less fat and blah blah blah. I found her to be very rude and unprofessional. I didn't complain or request money off my bill, but I was embarrassed and humiliated in front of other customers, all because I didn't care for the taste of what they considered food. My family was in the resturant business for over 37 years. I know that I would have never treated a customer the way I was treated by this establishment. Furthermore, I want to note, that Boscov's has nothing to do with this restaurant. They merely rent out the space to these people. I would not recommend eating at this resturant. There are plenty of other choices in downtown Binghamton where you will get treated like a guest and have a good quality meal as well.
