I met my son, a SUNY Binghamton student, there for lunch. I was very pleasantly surprised. Great food, comfortable atmosphere, and very low prices. I had the calzoni(it was huge) with a side of the best sauce this side of Italy all for only $5.50. Unbelievable! The owners run the place and were as accommodating and friendly as could be, nice atmosphere. Can't wait to go back and try the dinner menu. They had some great looking veal dishes.

Forget the Olive Garden - that commercial food cannot even begin to compare to the food at Grotta Azzurra! A family-owned and run Italian restaurant for almost twenty five years, Grotta Azzurra has options for anyone's palate, including a very large vegetarian section. When I went there with my sister, we shared plates of Stuffed Rigatoni & homemade Manicotti. Words can't explain how authentic and delicious this food was - we thought that our grandmother had somehow made it into the kitchen of Grotta Azzurra and cooked for us. This is a must-visit restaurant in Binghamton.
